Gramma's Grammy Awards Celebration Ready to Rock n' Roll

Sunday Feb. 10th is Grammy Awards night and the stars will shine at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, California.  But that's not the only place Grammy's will be awarded this year. Would you believe Welland Ontario will also be home to a Grammy event?

It's my mother Joan Storie's birthday and as is tradition, I host her annual party. Each year I labour over a unique theme. Past themes have included last year's  Rock n Roll Oldies, a Valentines theme party,Super Bowl theme and a black and white Zebra theme (because my mom loves zebras.)

With this year's party taking place on Feb. 10th, I decided to make it "Gramma's Grammy Awards Birthday". I have slideshows of music star and past birthdays cued up and ready to play on TV, laptop and digital photo frame, a special playlist of over 80 Grammy winning songs (dubbed "Grammy Radio" and featuring a DJ that sounds an awful lot like me...LOL) and lots of award winning decorations to get everyone in the Grammy spirit.

We're also having a talent contest, where each guest is encouraged to perform a song, dance or whatever they wish, for a chance at winning prizes and their very own Grammy Award! The performance portion of the evening will take place after everyone has enjoyed dinner and cake and after mom opens her gifts (it is after all a Birthday party first, Grammy competition second. LOL!

I'm really looking forward to seeing guests reactions when they see the place and hope to have tons of photos to share with everyone later....they're even a Grammy backdrop ready for paparazzi.
