SCRIBBLES VIDEO | Peter Cottontail (Scribbles Style)

I never promised you a rose garden, nor that I can sing. Be that as it is, I do "sing" on this revised version of the Peter Cottontail song, which is coupled with photos of how you & I celebrated Easter this year.

KIDS | Growing, Growing, Gone!

Our pal Ethan McParland recently celebrated his birthday.

IN HIS MOM'S OWN WORDS, JANET McPARLAND SAYS:

"It's hard to believe, but this sweet boy is 10 today. Ethan has a love for history and board games, he likes to make people laugh and he can light up a room with his energy. Wishing you a very happy birthday, Ethan"

WOW! 10 years old already, and Dylan recently turned 9 and Jack is older than both of them, where is the time going?  This is particularly freaky to someone who only gets to see the kids once every couple of years.

They go from toddler, to child, to leaving home for college in no time at all.  Strange, considering, the kids grow up and we all stay the same, youthful, attractive people we are. LOL

VIDEO | Place Your Bets

Here's an ad for Abilify, which was added to my medication cocktail about a month ago. It's also a medication that TV ads now warn can cause you to become addicted to gambling (??)

I haven't become a chronic gambler, nor have I turned into a cartoon character, walking around with my meds by my side, but I'll BET you it could happen any day now. LOL

ME | I Asked if it Will it Make me Better, NOT Bet-ter!

TRUE STORY!

I just saw an ad on a U.S. station for a lawyer's firm...you know the kind of ads...where there's someone saying how this particular drug has led to health issues and you or a loved one could be entitled to money... etc.

This was a new ad and to my shock they were talking about one of the meds I am currently taking!! I am serious...it was about the med Abilify -which my doctor recently added to stabilize severe mood swings.

The ad said Abilify can lead to uncontrollable gambling and then went on to tell you where to call. etc.

Abilify causes gambling issues? I bet all my money they're wrong.

We dropped everything and immediately told Megan we were "stealing" this photo for Scribbles. It is such a great shot, it entered Scribbles at top story on the page.

[LOL - ok right now Megan looks like she is staring at Bobby Rock and Shane in the BS Rocks sidebar ad. Bobby is giving her lots of rockin' attitude but Shane better not be fake gagging on Megan...LOL.]

NEW SCRIBBLES VIDEO | DEBUT of New Series 'Scribbles Bits'

It's our first attempt, so be kind..LOL. This is our debut episode of Scribbles Bits, a combination of short clips and silliness, that we hope you will enjoy.

Now that I've got the idea "out there" and with all the vintage video clips and photos Scribbles has of so many of you, putting together future "Bits" sounds like fun to me.

If you have any ideas or have recorded your own video "Bits" that you would like Scribbles to use, please contact us.  I'd love to see Scribbles BITS become a series featuring both my crazy ideas as well as the the rest of you in Scribblesland, Short and sweet is the goal if you do come up with something.

YOU | Another Birthday for Kim? You'd Never Know It!

Although 'officially' my sister Kim's birthday isn't until Tues. my family celebrated on Sun. the 13th at mom's place. I know they were having pasta and cake and Kim was bringing her own bun..LOL. but aside from what food people were bringing, I was very dizzy and nauseated, so had to send my regards and rest immediately,  That's happened before once as well.  Doc and I adjusted my meds 2 weeks ago so could be that.

I have a homemade card and unique gift note for you to pick up or let me come over with some time Kimster!  Happy Birthday.

I know I can be tardy at times, but this is ridiculous. I moved to my current place in spring of 2014. At the time I recorded parts of a video tour. The idea got shelved until a few days ago when a friend asked me if I had ever created the tour of my apartment video. It hadn't!

That's rectified now, just shy of 2 years later, with this tour of my place,... obviously reshot numerous time.

Funny how many times I give an idea a deadline and then get upset at myself when that date comes and the project's not even started. Still each project somehow does eventually get created, meaning maybe it's me who needs to slow down and adjust my silly deadlines.

PETS | "And there's an easy chair for Floyd to cuddle up on"

"Now, look up, waaaaaaaay up and I'll call Rusty" If you're old enough to remember those lines, well, you're no spring rooster or juvenile giraffe either...LOL.

In the photoshopped pix above, we feature our pal Megan Fox's cat Floyd looking up, "Way up".

That line reminded me of an old TV show and the next thing I knew I was searching Google for the Friendly Giant's decor...LOL.

Back in the day, the Friendly Giant aired on CBC and around the globe. It was a children's program featuring the flute playing giant, portrayed by actor Bob Homme, Jerome the Giraffe and Rusty the Rooster who lived in a book bag and played harp (Don't ask, don't tell. They were big back then.)

Things would be much different if furry Floyd were at the Friendly Giant's castle. They'd probably CGI it all anyhow

EXTRA! EXTRA! Unstoppable BRIAN HEIT Retires!!!

Enjoy this Encore Scribbles Video

Back in May 2012, Scribbles presented a Video Salute to our friends at Talk Wireless. It was my way of saying goodbye, since a few days later I was let go from my position [which in my case was primarily horizontal, as my back pain meant that during breaks I would lay on the sofa or if it was a super duper pain day, lay directly on the floor)

Here's a look back at the video I made. It's interesting to see how some of us have changed and to see some of the silliest moments at 'old school' Talk Wireless.

IN MEMORIAM | Shirley McRoberts

When I was about 10, my family moved to a house on Rebecca Street. We would soon discover that the families living on either side of us were related. There were also two other families on the street also related to this group, it was very unique.

The Campbell family lived on one side of us. The children were Kenzie, Karen, Kelly & Kirby. Their relatives on the other side of our house were the McRoberts. Kim, Kenzie & Kelly were the kids. It's strange how my sister Kim and myself  (Ken) fit right in with all the K names on the street.

I remember Mrs. McRoberts. She was very pleasant and there were always great aromas coming from her kitchen and there were tiny little cartoon characters (I think perhaps the Flintstones) sitting on the kitchen window sill...Kelly, Kim, let me know if I have this wrong.

To the McRobert family, extended family and friends I send you my deepest sympathy on your loss.

JOE FRIDAY SPECIAL EDITION | featuring Timmi

After Jim Steel posted these photos and text on his facebook page, the series was just begging (yes, I went there...LOL) to become a comic strip.

Sit. Stay... and enjoy...

PHOTOS & TEXT BY JIM STEEL  | LAYOUT BY SCRIBBLES

It's funny how one thing leads to another...

I had no sooner finished the Joe Friday auto repair piece when it reminded me of when I had my car [insert long sad pause here.] Truck or car, I know very little about either of them except how to make them go. So when my car "Betsy" needed repairs I was putty in the mechanic's hands.

Some women have told me in the past that when they went to a mechanic, the guy assumes cuz they are a woman, they'll know nothing about cars.

With me, many mechanics think that as a guy, I obviously know what they're talking about when they start rattling off parts that need to be fixed or replaced.  I often didn't want to "blow my cover" and admit I had no clue what the mechanic was talking about, so I'd tell him to go head with the repair, that I may have or have not needed at all.

Here's a comic strip of when I had a car...

EN-RICH-MENTS | Rich Hunt Talks About Dog Zen

Dog zen!...lol if you "live" with a dog or dogs, you will know they have a sixth sense for everything.

They know a walk is coming before you say it, they are at the window before you pull up...at any random time....they know when to bug you for food and you'll cave. They know when to hug you, cuddle you..leave you alone.

Why? Because it's in their program to live in the moment! They don't hold grudges for being yelled at for peeing on the floor, they don't worry you're never coming home.

It's that living in the moment that offers unconditional love! If they worried about the past or future, a predator would catch them off guard.

Some dogs, pick up their owners behaviours and get anxiety...that is not their nature....and so...like those anxious dogs, many of us have learned from those around us that it's natural to worry and have stepped out of our nature therefore giving up the best gift of all...unconditional love.

The ability to drop the past emotions and the ability to be comfortable without knowing the future. Look at every news story you want, every case study you want...those that are bad, came from people worrying about the past or future, those that are good...will have a statement like...I wasn't thinking...I just ran into that burning building.

Dogs!!! They have lots to teach us! May god bless everyone of them.
