Ghosts of Halloweens Past

Every October It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown airs on TV. No matter how many times you've see it, Halloween just wouldn't seem the same without it (Spoiler alert: Linus will once again be disappointed. LOL)

The following posts first appeared on Scribbles during past Halloweens and have become our Great Pumpkin inspired traditions.

Enjoy (again!)

vIDEO - Scribbles Invites You to Our Costume Party

W
ith Halloween upon us, there's lots of confusion as to what we can and cannot do this year. Do we take the kids trick or treating, or keep them home and have a family house party instead? Can we have friends over for a social gathering, or should we make that gathering a virtual one through Zoom or Facetime? The pandemic has turned what is normally an exciting time to be creative and let your hair down into yet another messed up chapter of 2020.

Never fear, Scribbles is here. We're edited together your entries from previous year's costume contests to come up with a virtual costume party for your enjoyment. Take a trip back to 2014 and check out the cool guises you came up with that year. Then continue your trip as we present your costumes for 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. We also reveal which costume won first prize in each of those years.

Is it the same as getting dressed up and going to an actual costume party? Not even close. But it does provide a chance to give a  second look at the awesome costumes you shared with your fellow Scribbles friends over the years.

vIDEO 1 - I Want That Dog Gone T-shirt Contest Winner

Our Sit. Shake. Roll Over edition was a bow wow hit and we're glad you liked it. We featured a contest in our last edition. I Want That Dog Gone T-Shirt Contest offered a chance to win a special Scribbles t-shirt with a cool dog on it. Ironically, we employ the services of my cat Miss Kitty, who helps us draw a winner.

Who wins our contest? Find out now.

eDITORiAL - Life in the Great Outdoors

 Hello Everyone
                                           TT

In August we featured our 'Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty' cat edition and in September our 'Sit.Shake. Roll Over' dog edition. Both editions were big hits that had even friends we rarely hear from, sending us words of praise. (I love when that happens.)

I guess I shouldn't really be all that surprised. After all, stories about pets ranked #1 in our Scribbles Readers Survey this summer.

Judging by your recent Facebook posts, there appears to be something else many of you are passionate about and that's the great outdoors. Enjoying ourselves outside is one of the few things that hasn't been greatly altered due to the pandemic. We may not be able to meet up in large groups, but we can still enjoy all that autumn has to offer.

Admiring the brilliant canvas of fall leaves, feasting on the harvests of the season and embarking on invigorating walks, hikes, bike rides and road trips. All are things that we have gravitated to even more so than ever.

Don't believe me? Check out the colourful posts featured today in our Awesome Autumn edition, if you still have any doubts. Also included are 3 new Scribbles videos, two of which are also about outdoor events.

Enjoy!

THE GIF PHOTO OF ME WAS TAKEN AT MY MOM'S ON OCT. 4TH. IT'S ME WITH A SMALL BIRTHDAY CAKE MOM SURPRISED ME WITH. I HAD HOPED TO MAKE THIS YEAR'S "MILESTONE" BIRTHDAY LOW KEY...WELL CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. LOL!

vIDEO 2 - I'm in Love With My Yard

If you're a Queen fan you're familar with their song 'I'm in Love with My Car'. Well that's the tune I envision when I'm chanting 'I'm in Love with my Yard'. And this year I really do love that yard. It's been my great escape throughout the past months and I'd like to show you a bit of it...

vIDEO 3 - The Tale of the Trail

Here's our final new video in our Awesome Autumn edition.

When Scribbles began way waaaaaaaay back in 1979, much of our content was for my little sister Jane. This video is about a hike Jane & I took recently. It's for everyone, but it's especially for Jane and in that way it reminds me of our roots. LOL!

Come join us on our walk without leaving your seat.
