ANNIVERSARY | Drifting Back 36 Years

No matter when you may have first discovered Scribbles, you've been a part of a very interesting journey. A place where the accomplishments and special moments of those around us have had a place to shine.

Many times friends has told me how it felt like they knew someone else whose stories and pix they had followed on Scribbles over the years. They may never meet in person, but somehow they've made a connection.

Some friends share tales of meeting someone for the first time, such as at work or a group they just joined, and realizing that person somehow looks familiar. Yep. As it turned out they had both been featured in past Scribbles posts.

In many cases you and I have watched together as kids have become adults and then parents of their own, all well-documented over the years through one of Scribbles many incarnations.

Knowing that there are so many amazing people whose paths somehow crossed with mine and ever since then they've become a part of Scribbles, is certainly humbling.

Believe me when I say, I do not for one minute forget the uniqueness of Scribbles and its elite band of followers, who are truly like family to me.

September 1 was "officially" Scribbles 36th Anniversary.

It was Labour Day weekend 1979 while watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon that I first sat down with some paper, pens, crayons, scissors & glue and started creating. Jerry Lewis and Ed McMahon would be staying up all night for their cause and so was I. What resulted was a small single copy book called SUNNY Digest, for my youngest sister Jane.

We've changed a few times over the years - our biggest being Scribbles Magazines [that many of you still have kicking around your homes somewhere] and our transformation to the world wide web.

Who would have thought that 36 years later Scribbles would still be doing what we love best...making you the star of the show.

And let's not forget....now we're using a forum that can be viewed around the globe. That's certainly a lot different than a single copy digest that was shared amongst its readers like a library book.

Where in the world is Scribbles today? Anywhere you want it to be!

Happy 36th Anniversary to you and I....to us....the stars of Scribbles!
