I did a double take and then just had to snap a picture, when I spotted this car's bumper sticker in the parking lot at a local flea market last weekend. I commend the owner's honesty and had a good chuckle, I just hope for the sake of everyone's safety, they're speaking figuratively and not literally...LOL!

We Love Christmas
They call it the most wonderful time of the year with good reason. With all the ups and downs that each year gives us, the holidays are the one time of year we can all put our worries aside.
Young or old, wealthy or pennywise, the holidays can be enjoyed by all, simply by remembering the true meaning of the season and showing love and gratitude towards those around us.

Maybe it's the music, perhaps it's all the fond memories featured here in photos, or maybe it's the sentiment that surrounds it all...whatever the reason, I must say it is one of the most heartwarming videos I've ever created. It fills me with joy every time I watch it (and that's been A LOT)I recommend viewing the clip in full screen mode and if you have headphones handy, you might want to put them on as the music sounds even better that way.

Jeanne Prince (inset above) was the winner in our Fit for a Queen Contest. She was happy to receive her prize, a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Plate and Booklet.
Jeanne told Scribbles, "I received my gift of the Queen Elizabeth Plate and Book. How cool it is. I have it in my glass cabinet beside Elvis, because he is the King, so it was rather suiting. Hahaha."
Good one Jeanne, I'm glad the Royal Couple are together at last.
A few days later, Angela Whiteley, the winner of this year's Best Halloween Costume Contest, informed us she received her prizes, The Munsters DVD set, Bewitched DVD set and a novelty trophy. Being the creative type, Angela not only told us she got her prizes, she showed us too....in the form of the hilarious photo below. When she posted the pix on her facebook page she joked "I'm feeling a bit green today, must be Wine flu". What a character.
Glad you both enjoy your prizes Jeanne and Angela!!

Jeff Stewart and his boyfriend Frankie recently enjoyed a Carribean cruise, which included a stop in the Bahamas. Some of Jeff pix reminded me of when he and I enjoyed a week at Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas in 2001 (wow, can't believe it was THAT long ago!) Jeff said the cruise ship was amazing, except that both he and Frankie suffered seasickness.
Sideness aside, it looks and sounds like you have a great trip and I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous.
In fact, the Niagara Falls Humane Society was so appreciative of their generosity that they featured Kerri and Joanne on their website.
Here's what the humane society wrote: "Thank you to two caring ladies...Our thanks to Kerri Fortier and Joanne Gauthier for their generous donation. Kerri and Joanne baked and knitted for a Vendor Sale where they work, and raised a whopping $150 to help the animals. Thanks, ladies, you are amazing. Joanne adopted Magnolia from NFHS. She is now called Maggie and is doing very well"
That's so great Kerri and Joanne. Hope you are as proud of yourselves as we are of you both!! Congrats on your new pet Joanne.
And Kerri, I must say the photo here of you and "Miss Piggy" really is tempting me to adopt another cat (especially when Piggy looks so much like J.R.) but I think for now it is best that I direct all my pet affection to my dog Timmi. My income is limited these days, so it would not be fair to introduce another little mouth to feed into the picture. If Timmi were not here, I can assure you I would probably already have another kitty. But - for now at least -no new pets.
Very Good Habits
Being a nunn was never so much fun, as Garden City Productions presentation of Nunsense. The play ran from Nov. 16 - Dec. 2 at Ridley College's Mandeville Theatre and proved to be one of GCP's finest and funniest productions ever.
Of course, as with any live production, the show is only as good as its performers and fortunately for Nunsense (and the full house they enjoyed each night) the 5 stars of this play were "holier than thou".
Starring as the Little Sisters of Hoboken were Kathie Gosen (Mother Superior), Betsy Tauro (Sister Mary Hubert), Kiley Whissell (Sister Robert Anne), Chelsea DiFranco (Sister Mary Amnesia) and Breton Lalama (Sister Mary Leo).
Part musical, part comedy, Nunsense was a the perfect mix of song and laughs...lots of laughs! Although each character shared the spotlight equally, Chelsea DiFranco as Sister Mary Amnesis was ironically the most most memorable, in my books.
I joined my mother and her friends for the show's Dec. 1st performance. As you may recall, my mother lives only a block away from the theatre, meaning we can park at her place and walk to the show, rather than search for a parking spot at the theatre. It also meant that should I suddenly feel ill, I could leave the show and walk to mom's to recover. I am happy to say i did not need to use this insurance and enjoyed the entire production with little discomfort.
Changes to Scribbles Contests ComingWe will increase contests in the future which feature gift cards as the grand prize. All Scribbles pals living in Canada will be welcome to enter these contests, as sending a gift card through the mail is relatively inexpensive.
Contests where the prizes are DVD sets or other bulkier items, will now be limited to residents of Niagara only. This way the winner's prizes can be delivered or picked up in person, thus eliminating shipping fees.
However, we will make an exception to this new rule... If you live outside Niagara and are willing to cover the cost of shipping prizes if you win, then you will be able to enter.
Scribbles apologizes for any disappointment this new rule may cause, but it was necessary due to the soaring expense of shipping prizes.

On Dec. 5th, Swiss Chalet in St Catharines teamed up with Pride Niagara for a great way to raise funds. For each person who dined at the Glendale Ave location and mentioned they were there in support of Pride Niagara, Swiss Chalet made a donation to the group in the amount of 15% of each guests bill. So the more you spent and enjoyed yourself, the greater the donation.
We arrived in time to say hello to a group of friends from Pride Niagara who had just finished enjoying their dinner. It was great to say hi to Enzo DeDivitiis, chairperson for Pride Niagara and proprietor of ENVY -Niagara's LGBT Ultra-Lounge, as we had not seen each other in ages, although Scribbles remains loyal in advertising events (even if I am unable to join in the fun at most of them.)
The management and staff at Swiss Chalet/Glendale Ave. were bubbly and supportive of the cause which made us feel very welcomed and definitely eager to return again soon.

Despite a perceived rivalry between the popular “Animation Domination” shows, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has recorded a vocal cameo for an appearance on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.
MacFarlane will appear in an upcoming episode titled “Dangers on a Train,” which is scheduled to air next fall as the season-25 premiere. According to Entertainment Weekly, MacFarlane will voice a dashing stranger that Marge Simpson meets on a train, and the two bond over their shared love of the popular British costume drama Upton Rectory.
MacFarlane has previously lent his voice to Simpsons creator Matt Groening’s other show, Futurama, back in 2009, but this marks the first time he’s visited Springfield. “We thought we had a great part that he’d be perfect for, and it would be great to have him on our show, so it worked out just right,” says Simpsons exec producer Al Jean. “There’s been a little rivalry,” he admits. “We’re both humour shows and we make jokes, but it’s always been friendly.”
Simpsons Contest lets Canadians Compete to Create Couch-Gag for Season Finale
Think you’ve got what it takes to come up with an unbelievably hilarious couch gag to open the 2013 season finale of The Simpsons? If so, better put on your thinking cap and hopefully become the one lucky Canadian to see his or her idea come to life in an actual Simpsons episode, thanks to a new contest sponsored by Global.
Starting December 5 and ending December 24, Canadian fans can submit their couch gag ideas, and these written summaries will be winnowed down to the top three, which will be posted online in January. From there, fans can vote for their favourites, with the winning entry submitted to be animated and appear during the Canadian airing of the season finale.
“We are thrilled to be bringing this exclusive contest to Global viewers,” said Jason Keown, Senior Director of Marketing, Global TV. “Canada loves The Simpsons and this is an incredible opportunity for fans to engage with the series, its creators and with one another in paying tribute to the show.”
Not only will the winner have bragging rights to an actual couch gag, but will also receive a four-day/three-night trip for two to L.A. to visit The Simpsons animation studio ,Film Roman, sit in on a table read of a Simpsons episode with the show’s cast and producers, a special prize pack and a one-of-a-kind illustration from the winning couch gag.

Our friend Meghan Mcewen really loves her dog Charlie and after you check out the video clip below, we're betting you will too.
Meghan told Scribbles "Charlie is a Louisiana rescue...adopted 2 years ago....who enjoys yoga weekly. She does yoga at retirement homes in Niagara and is a certified therapy dog with St. John's ambulance. That's her story...LOL"
And what a story it is Meghan. After seeing the clip of her lounging on the sofa, I can just imagine what a hit she must be when she visits retirement homes and gets all zen with her yoga moves. In fact, I'm now questioning whether Charlie is indeed a dog or actually a little person wrapped in fur.

Our friend Joan Wiley joked that she had better TV reception, when she posted these pictures of her new cat Luna wearing a cone over her head. Luna was recently spade and needed the cone to keep her from nibbling at her incision.
Joan reports that Luna is feeling much better and no longer requires the cone around her neck. Guess it's back to rabbit ears at the Wiley house once again,...LOL!

Santa's Little Helpers?
My dog Timmi, Rob's sister Patty's orange cat Hunter and Rob's mom Merry's fluffy white cat Cotton are all decked out in their Santa suits in the three photos seen here. And their bright red outfits aren't the only thing our precious pets seem to have in common.... the unimpressed look on their faces are all quite similiar too....LOL. The things we do to amuse ourselves, eh?
Our pal Sally Vince has a very cool cat. While some kittys might like to play with toy mice, trendy Scamp would rather spend time at the family's iPad. Don't believe us, check out this mini video clip.
(And Sally, I am sorry it took me sooooooooooooo long to post this. I'm sure Scamp has probably moved on to the latest iPad and mini iPad by now.)
Congratulations to our friends Pat and Joe Fenerty, whose home is once again filled with the pitter patter of little feet....well actually make that "paws" and there's 8 of them doing the pittering and pattering. Pat and Joe recently adopted kitty brothers Devon and Mason, who we're sure are adding hours of entertainment to the Fenerty household.
Let us know how many times the Christmas tree gets attacked Pat, with two young cats around, the tree is sure to be an object of real affection....Ho, Ho, Ho!
