Little Thomas Papple is all smiles as he goes fishing in Grandpa Don's swimming pool. The photo was taken on Father's Day, where three generations of Papple dad's gathered for pampering and appreciation. We're fairly certain Thomas didn't catch any fish but it sure looks like he had fun trying.

Luke Bryan performs "Country Girl Shake it for Me" on the CMA's
Yum Yum...We love new Country music sensation Luke Bryan and after you watch this video clip we think you might too. Luke opened for Tim McGraw (along with The Band Perry) when he was in concert last Summer and Scribbles was there in Hamilton to enjoy it all.
Luke might be singing about Country girls shaking it for him, but we think he does a damn fine job of shakin' his booty too. Check out this clip and see if you agree.

Two Times the Celebration at the Papple's Place
Don Papple enjoyed a cool cake and lots of laughs with his wife and kids on his 61st birthday on June 8th. Meanwhile his daughter Erin also had reason for celebrating....she got her driver's license the same day.
Windmill Point in Ridgeway, ON will be rockin' this weekend as Rob's dad Ron Dennis celebrates his 60th birthday with family and friends. Ron's nickname is Rooster and I'm betting we'll be hearing plenty of "cockadoodle doo's" throughout the big party, expected to be enjoyed by up to 50 guests.
Happy Birthday Ron!
Drawing the Line
Nik Wallenda made history with his tightrope walk over Niagara Falls on June 15th. The hype leading up to the event was almost more exciting than the walk itself, thanks in part to the tether Wallenda was forced to wear while crossing. Not that I wanted him to fall, but that damn tether took all the suspence out of the routine. Even if he had of slipped, he would probably have just dangled there until he could be rescued. I can see why Nik didn't want to wear it.
Wallenda was heard thanking Jesus throughout his walk, while merchants on either side of the border could be heard praising their chosen gods for all the revenue Nik's wild stunt brought to Niagara Falls.

What a Drag
Montebello Park's stage was filled with talented performers on June 9th, as 39 colourful performers set out to break the Guinness World Record for the most drag queens and kings on stage at the same time.
When it comes to celebrating Pride, Niagara's LGBT community has really come a long way. No longer tucked deep in the woods or behind the walls of a lounge or hall (NOT that there was anything wrong with those) this year's festivities were loud, proud and in the heart of downtown St. Catharines at Montebello Park.
With corporate sponsors coming on board and a the goal to beat the Guinness World Record for the most drag queen and kings performing on stage at once, Pride in the Park was without doubt Niagara's finest Pride party ever.
Although rain played havoc with the event throughout the day, it couldn't dampen the spirits of those in attendance. There was a genuine joy in being a part of the biggest Pride gathering in Niagara's history and in the feeling that the event has grown to be accepted as one of equal significance as that of Niagara's Wine or Folk Arts Festivals, just two of many diverse annual celebrations that also call Montebello Park home.
In addition to the Guinness World Record performance, guests also enjoyed live performances from artists Lexi Tellings, Kelly and the Kelly Girls and The Cliks. A licensed area was provided by ENVY Lounge and to keep us dancing into the dark of night, were guest DJ's Cat, Pierre Fitch and local favourite Rob from Ignite.
I can honestly say I can not recall a time I ever felt prouder to be a part of Niagara's LGBT community. With all the effort that so many put into the venue, the least I could do would be to put together a video sampling of time I spent at the event accompanied by my partner Rob and "Sister Jane". Feel free to share it with all your family and friends.
Happy Pride Niagara...and thanks for making this our best yet!
Proud Sponsors of this year's PRIDE NIAGARA:
A Shout Out to Shannon
The success of Pride in the Park was thanks to the efforts of many. From sponsors, to vendors, volunteers to security and DJ's to live performers - all were essential in making the event a blast.
With all due respect and appreciation to everyone involved, we'd like to send a special thank you to Shannon Unrau [aka Nathan Drake]. Shannon was the brainchild behind the idea of breaking the Guinness World Record for the most drag queens and kings on stage at the same time. Working around the clock to make the dream a reality, Unrau spoke with the media, was in contact with Guinness and put the call out to performers from Niagara and surrounding communities to pull in all together.
Kudos to you Shannon and the 38 performers who joined you on stage to break the Guinness World Record, dance away the rain clouds and make all of us shine with pride.

Adam Lambert proud of new album
by Jane Stevenson, QMI Agency
Former American Idol runner up Adam Lambert couldn’t be happier than his sophomore disc, the funk-and-dance influenced Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 in Canada and the U.S. last week.
“I think it was a real accomplishment that the album was able to chart that high without a big single,” says a smiling Lambert, 30, glammed up in black and white tie-dyed, torn pants, silver jewelry and a skunk-like blond streak on the top of his jet black hair.
“So it’s kind of a grassroots, kind of fan movement. (I was) very surprised. I mean, I knew that the fans were going to want a copy but I didn’t know what numbers we were dealing with.”
Trespassing, whose second single, Never Close Our Eyes is just out now, dropped to No. 7 in Canada and No. 11 in the U.S. this week and Lambert says he probably won’t tour until 2013.
But he also made history as the first openly gay singer to have an album debut at No. 1.
“It feels really great,” says Lambert, who’s also written an intimate and melancholy song, Outlaws Of Love, about LGBT discrimination on Trespassing.
But, at some point, Lambert wants his sexuality to no longer be a part of the story.
“It’s an interesting journey being identified as ‘the openly gay pop guy’ because I feel like it’s a privilege to be an example of somebody that’s not making any apologies for it and to try and give young people the feeling of pride and the idea that they can reach their dreams if they want them,” he explains. “But the flipside to it is that it does get a bit objectified, mainly by the media. I think this milestone of reaching No. 1 and being the first hopefully it makes the statement: That it really doesn’t matter. That we just need to move on.”
In fact, Lambert moves on to London next week to begin two-week rehearsals with Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor for six European dates together in July.
Lambert first performed We Are The Champions with Queen in 2009 on the eighth season of American Idol’s finale on which he was the runner-up and then that tune and two more songs on the 2011 MTV European Music Awards.
“They’re really, really cool guys, total class acts.”
Lambert adds he’s not nervous at the prospect of touring with Queen for the first time but admits “there’s going to be some work involved.
“But I’m looking forward to it. I think I’ve worked so hard and been so focused on my project it’ll be nice to step into somebody else’s world for a minute again. It’ll be a creative sidestep and it’s a nice sweet, short, little commitment.”

Life Sadly Imitates Art as 'Desperate Housewives' Star Dies of Cancer
“Desperate Housewives” actress Kathryn Joosten, who won two Emmy awards for her supporting role as a nosy neighbour on the recently ended hit show, died of lung cancer on Saturday June 2nd, her spokeswoman said. She was 72.
Joosten died with her family at her side at home in Westlake Village, 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Los Angeles, said her publicist, Nadine Jolson. She had battled the disease since being diagnosed in 2001.
Her death came less than three weeks after the airing of the final episode of “Desperate Housewives” in which Joosten’s character, Karen McCluskey, died of the illness with the Johnny Mathis song “Wonderful, Wonderful” playing in her room.
Joosten’s gossipy character often butted heads and occasionally joined in schemes with the main female characters on the show, Susan, Lynette, Bree and Gabrielle.
Besides her role as the irritable but often kind-hearted McCluskey on “Desperate Housewives” - which she joined in 2005 - Joosten was known for playing the secretary to fictional U.S. President Josiah Bartlet on “The West Wing,” an acclaimed drama program that ended in 2006.
Joosten’s career as an actress began in middle age, after she worked as a psychiatric nurse and had been married and divorced.
She worked as a street performer at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, in the early 1990s before moving on to character roles on television in “Murphy Brown,” “Frasier” and “The Drew Carey Show.”
Her other credits included supporting roles on the soap opera “General Hospital” and the films “Hostage” (2005) and “Bedtime Stories” (2008).
Joosten won an Emmy in 2005 and another in 2008, both for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for her work on “Desperate Housewives.”
“We are laughing through our tears,” her family said in a statement. She is survived by her sons, Jonathan and Timothy.
