Carol always ended her show singing "I'm so glad we had this time together". The song ended by stating "Seems we just get started and before you know it. Comes a time we have to say so long". That is EXACTLY how I feel about Battle of the Best Series 6 coming to an end.
A lot of time and effort goes into Battle of the Best and the reward for all that work is your participation and appreciation. I'm going to miss all of that.
Throughout our 26 "friendly" battle rounds, many of you told me how much you loved voting in each round. You told me how difficult it was to decide upon which you liked best in several rounds, because you really loved all the choices. And you told me how much you are going to miss playing and how you hope we do it all again sometime soon.
I want to thank our Scribbles friends who sent in battle round ideas used throughout series 6. Thank you Merry Christine, Kim Papple and Gord Helmkay for their contributions.
And a super-sized "Thank You" to Karin Campbell-Gadd. We used many of her exception ideas for this series (including the inspiration for this round) and it was a huge help to me.
I would love to do another Battle of the Best Series but admit I'm kinda tapped out for new battle ideas. I have a few, but really do need your help. Even if only a few of you sent in ideas, it would help set up another series.
We will feature the results of Battle of the Best Series 6 in a future video. Stay tuned for more details in the days ahead.
And now, for one last time here is...
BATTLE OF THE BEST | ROUND 26 | BEST IRWIN ALLEN DISASTER OR FANTASY MOVIE OR TV SERIES
Irwin Allen was a master in disaster and fantasy productions. In The Poseidon Adventure he turned a ship and it’s surviving passengers upside down. Things got pretty hot in the Towering Inferno. There were dinosaurs aplenty in The Lost World. The adventures were all wet on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. We traveled through time in The Time Tunnel. Our heroes were shrunken to doll size on Land of the Giants and a now iconic robot coined the phrase “Danger Will Robinson, Danger!” on Lost in Space. Irwin Allen’s imagination was limitless and each show or movie were sensational.
The Lost World, The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants or Lost in Space. Which do you like best?
