Music's Big Night Doesn't Disappoint

Did you watch the Grammy Awards on Sunday night?

It is my favourite awards show because it's like a big concert made up of artist's of all genres. Throw is more artists presenting awards and you have a perfect way to forget your troubles for 3 1/2 hours.

This was the last time the Grammy's would air on CBS after over 50 years on that network. A new 10 year agreement will find the Grammy Awards airing on ABC & Disney+ starting in 2027.

It was also the last time Trevor Noah would be hosting. He actually was persuaded to appear one more time, as his contract was already up.

The performances were all over the map and for the most part very entertaining. Some were odd...like Justin Bieber performing 'his song 'Yukon' wearing only boxer shorts and socks (it was actually a great song, and Bieber is known for being a bit out there, so it all made sense...well sorta.)

Cher
made an awkward appearance, receiving a lifetime achievement award but forgetting she was then supposed to present an award, she walked off stage. If she could turn back time, I'm betting she'd like to have a do over.

It was great to see Lola Young receive the Best Pop Song award for 'Messy'. In true Lola style, she was bleeped when nervously accepting her award (she admitted to not having prepared a speech as she did not expect to win.)

Yungblud won best rock performance for his rendition of Ozzy Osborne's 'Changes' at the Back to the Beginning Farewell Concert. Yungblud's award was given out prior to the telecast, as were many others.

Speaking of Ozzy, Post Malone sang lead vocals on 'War Pigs' featuring Slash and other rock artists, as a tribute to Osborne. Izzy's wife Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack were all quite emotional, as they watched the performance.

When a cat drinks, its tongue -which has tiny barbs on it - scoops the liquid up backwards.
