Having a Grape Time at Niagara's Wine Festival

They danced, they sang, they drank and they lined the downtown streets of St Catharines, as many Scribbles pals once again gathered for Niagara's Annual Wine Festival. Although each year's festivities run for well over a full week, it is always the Grande Parade weekend that brings visitors from near and far to celebrate.

The Beatles tribute band The Caverners performing the night before the Grande Parade in Montebello Park -a tradition that draws a larger crowd every year (who says Beatlemania is a thing of the past?)  Our pals Andrew and his girlfriend Melisa were on hand for this year's rockin' show.

With no rain on Saturday, it was perfect weather for the parade. Julia Eckert's son was in this years parade,  representing the Boy Scouts and proud momma Julia and her family were waiting in the crowd to cheer him on.

After the parade is when the big boys and girls come out to play. Bar-hopping (or is that bar-staggering?) is a popular sport, as most downtown clubs feature live bands, BBQ's, patio parties and much more. Our pals Shannon, Becky, Jody, Suzn and others made their rounds to the Chili Pepper and later Cat's Caboose to catch the popular local band The Figure Four.  Just like the parade itself, being a travelling Figure Four groupie is also an annual event, which is good because it generally takes a year to recover...LOL!

Here's a short video clip featuring photos our friends took at this years Niagara Wine Festival...
