The Only Way to Travel
We've all heard of horse power, well here's the latest trend...dog power. These cute little pups seem ready for walking courtesy of their mommy. Dog gone it, how cute is this, eh?

Fighters for Frankie
by Jeff Stewart
As many of you may know, my better half suffers from a terribly degenerative disease called Multiple Sclerosis.
Every year we participate in the MS Walk here in Toronto as independent fundraising people. This year we have decided to form a team called "Fighters for Frankie".
We hope that by getting more people involved, we can do an even better job raising money for research and home care for those whose lives have been affected by MS. Please join us in our efforts to end MS by making a donation today. Secure online donations can be made by VISA, Master Card, American Express or PayPal. A non-alterable electronic tax receipt for your donation will be sent to you by e-mail. If you'd like, I also have pledge forms if you'd prefer to make a cash donation!

Maybe Next Year
The Ottawa Senator's were defeated in Game 7 of their series against the New York Rangers on Thursday night, eliminating the last Canadian team remaining in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Hats off to the Sens for a well played series, a great warm-up for next year when Lord Stanley's coveted cup could make its way back to Canada. (Don't laugh, it could happen!)

McCartney Cashes In
Sir Paul McCartney has moved up the list of the world's richest musicians thanks to his marriage to Nancy Shevell.
The Beatles legend's mass fortune was estimated at $792 million last year, but has now risen to $1.6 billion because of his wife's family fortune.
The couple is third in the Sunday Times Rich List Music Millionaires Top Fifty, with theatre producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh and record executive Clive Calder placed above them.
Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber came fourth thanks to his $944 million personal fortune and Irish rockers U2 made fifth spot with a combined haul of $822 million.
David and Victoria Beckham joined Rolling Stones rocker Sir Mick Jagger in 10th place after earning $304 million

"Sealed" with a Kiss
When opportunity knocked last year for former St Catharines pal Robin Whyte, she said yes to a great new career and moved to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia with her hunky husband Tim and their cutie pattootie son Cole. Beautiful Lunenburg is a refreshing change of scenery for our Pepsi girl and her boys. Baby Cole needn't worry about rapid-transit in his new remote habitat, he gets around quite fine using environmentally-friendly mommy power, as seen above.
The family's feline might not think his new surroundings are quite so delightful, an insider told Scribbles. Meowing wildly, he raced home covered in slime one day and when the Whyte's did some investigating they discovered a seal outside their homestead. Did Mr Pussycat narrowly escape becoming Kitty Tat-Tar? Purr-haps!

She's Gone Country!
Our friend Pat Fenerty's heart was all aflutter after she attended Alan Jackson's recent concert in Hamilton, ON with her husband Joe. Our silly Photoshopped pix may be black and white, but from what she described on her facebook page, star-struck Pat was indeed tickled pink.
Glad you enjoyed the concert "Wilma", hope "Fred" didn't get jealous when you tossed your house keys on stage...LMAO!

Friday April 20th was Janet ("JJ") and Keith Miller's 38th Anniversary, as we discovered by snooping around their daughter Robin Whyte's facebook page, and we could not be happier for them!
But I'm a bit confused JJ, how can you and Keith be married for 38 years? Wouldn't that have made you kindergarten classmates when you wed?
Congratulations Janet and Keith, you are indeed soulmates and I wish you many more happy years together.
READERS COMMENTS:
"Thanks so much Ken.. How sweet of you to create that collage I can't believe you found that old picture of us :) and yes I was a child bride we certainly defied the odds 38 years later; great job on Scribbles btw ..you are just so creative & geneous with your time & your talent"

Pint-Sized Farmer
Well if you don't recognize our little pal Dylan, you obviously haven't been reading Scribbles regularly. Photogenic Dylan has enjoyed plenty of exposure on our website recently and today is no exception.
This time around our Ottawa Valley buddy is dressed for some rural outdoor activity and he no doubt gets that passion from his relatives, who also enjoy life "down on the farm."
Another amusing moment found on Dylan's mom Erin's facebook page and snagged up by Scribbles for all our friends to enjoy!

The awesome photo above was taken while Renee and Norm enjoyed a long hike in North Island, New Zealand. Renee commented on facebook that although the view was great, it was a bit scary at the same time. And just look at the photo below! No wonder Renee refers to this as the "vacation of a lifetime."
I loved these photos so much I just had to make it today's top story. Looks like you had a memorable holiday Renee and Norm and ya, I'd be pretty scared up there too (as in poop my pants scared....LOL)

Our condolences to our Ottawa pals Megan and Andy on the loss of their bearded dragon lizard, Gary. Gary passed away April 16th, I believe he was about 6-7 years old and a dear companion to Megan and Andy.
Gary is survived by his brothers Larry the snake and Floyd the cat, who I'm sure will also miss their special scaley sibling.
MESSAGE FROM GARY'S "MOM" MEGAN...
[KEN REPLIES: Never EVER let anyone make you feel silly for mourning the loss of your pet. Sure more people can identify with the loss of a dog or cat because there's so many of us who share our home with those critters, but that doesn't mean you can't bond with other types of pets. And Gary was certainly a great example of that.]

I Missed the Trip to Vegas
Regretably I did not attend the Buck and Stag for Michael Poirier and David Bowman on Saturday night. My back was to blame for my absense.
I needed to do the routine of ice and heat treatments and take my meds most of the day and when the pain did subside at times, I was too medicated to hit the highway to Chippawa and that's without having a drink yet. So I stayed home and nursed my aches and pains.
I hope to see lots of photos on facebook from those who were lucky enough to enjoy the Viva Las Vegas stag and live show.
I was really looking forward to going, but I have accepted that there are unfortunately times when my chronic pain prevents me from doing some of the things I had hoped to and now there's another event added to that list.
Michael and David, my apologies for not being able to join you. I did promote your big event in Scribbles so hopefully that helped spread the word a bit more and make the night an even bigger success.

In an open letter made availableby Rose’s spokeswoman, he said other members of the L.A. band were welcome to attend and be honored at Saturday’s event, but not the lead singer of the band that gained fame in the late 1980s with smash hit album “Appetite for Destruction.”
“I won’t be attending The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction 2012 Ceremony and I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N’ Roses to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame,” Rose wrote in the letter.
“I strongly request that I not be inducted in absentia and please know that no one is authorized nor may anyone be permitted to accept any induction for me or speak on my behalf,” he said.
“Appetite for Destruction,” with songs like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City,” was a mega-sized hit of 1987, and it propelled Rose, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler, to global rock stardom.
But by the early 1990s, drug abuse had taken hold of several band members and Rose and Slash openly feuded. By the middle of that decade, the original lineup was no more.
Rose eventually gained the right to use the band’s name, released a long-awaited album “Chinese Democracy” in 2008, and still tours with a group of the same name but none of the members are original, except for himself.
“When the nominations for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame were first announced I had mixed emotions but, in an effort to be positive, wanting to make the most of things for the fans and with their enthusiasm, I was honored, excited and hoped that somehow this would be a good thing,” Rose wrote in his letter.
“Of course I realized as things stood, if Guns N’ Roses were to be inducted it’d be somewhat of a complicated or awkward situation,” he added.
Rose goes on to write that over the past few months, he has met with members of the Hall of Fame’s board, spoken with its president, and read in the media what fans and other members of the band had said.
He describes his efforts to find a way to appear as being “polite, courteous, and open” but adds, “no offense meant to anyone but the Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony doesn’t appear to be somewhere I’m actually wanted or respected.”
A representative for the Hall could not immediately be reached for comment late. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on Saturday, April 14, in Cleveland, Ohio
Our friend Lynn Farrow-McCutcheon and her BF will once again do what they and thousands of other bikers do on Friday the 13th....roll into Port Dover, ON for a slamming day of fun.
Lynn told us she's a real die-hard and that she never misses a Friday the 13th in the usually quiet little town. The event attracts bike enthusiasts from across Ontario and neighbouring U.S. Each time there's a Friday the 13th (regardless of the weather or time of year) bikers make Port Dover their destination.
And as if that isn't reason enough for Lynn to be excited, Saturday is her birthday. WOW, two big days in a row, sounds like you're in for a great weekend Lynn.
Happy Birthday Lynn.....and remember "What happens in Port Dover, Stays in Port Dover" LOL
