Sweet Child O' Mine
"Ax L" performs at Dunnville Community Theatre's
"Naught or Nice" Variety Show -Feb 26

It was a night of outrageous laughs, sing-alongs from top musicals and an array of amazing local talent, at the Dunnville Community Theatre's "Naught or Nice" Variety Show. Not even snowfall could keep me, Rob, my sister Jane and the crowds away. This evening's show had a licenced bar and you could bring your drinks to your seats, so before the currents were even drawn back, many were already giving it rave reviews. Cheers!

The event was hosted by Dunnville's one-and-only Chrissy Snow, who also performed in many of the show's group numbers. Joining Chrissy were renown Drag Queen Shada Black and Drag King Shae D. Davidson. They too were featured throughout the show in solo and group routines. Also joining all those impersonators were young local singers and performers. A live version of Pink's "Perfect" was a real crowd favourite.

The Naughty or Nice show featured numbers from Rent, Wicked, Hairspray and Little Shop of Horrors, meaning tons of costume changes for our talented troops.  And if a wardrobe mulfunction required Chrissy to stretch her hosting schtick a little longer between numbers, she was only too happy to oblige.

She Really Does Exist...
...and She's a Little Angel!

Alina Dennis was born in early January, Rob Dennis is her Uncle, so he and the rest of the family were there the day she arrived into the world. Thanks to facebook and "Uncle Rob's" iphone camera, scribbles has had no problem introducing Alina to our reader's as we watch her grow.

Trouble is, yours truly (Alina's common-in-law Uncle) had yet to meet the new bundle of joy. That is until Family Day, when Alina's parents Rodney and Heather hosted a home-cooked dinner.

Proving she wrote the book when it comes to multitasking, Heather prepared a home-cooked meal, while making sure baby Alina had her feeding, hubby Rodney (recovering from some recent surgery) was feeling ok, 4 year old son Kade played nice and quietly with his niece and nephew and that the family dog kept her cool when she saw a dog on the family's HUGE TV.

And although she would have been forgiven for going for store-bought, Heather instead prepared homemade lasagna with fresh banana cream pie for dessert. I was impressed!

Thank you for a delicious dinner and the opportunity to meet Alina and actually have a photo of me with her that wasn't the result of Photo Shop.

Could I be any cuter?

Yes, I guess I could be

Memorium

Our sympathy to our friend Merry Proulx on the recent passing of her dog Precious. Precious first came into Merry and her family's lives when Merry was with Ted Masters. Precious was his dog and when Ted passed away a few years ago, Precious became Merry's dog. Although she was pretty frail when she left us on Feb. 18th in her 16th year, Precious was spunky in her early days. She shared her home with Flipper the cat, who is also feeling a bit blue now that his canine gal no longer shares the sofa with him.

Merry you were a great mommy to Precious, you sure shared lots of years together and although you are sad she is not there, your special memories of her will remain with you forever.
