There's No Place Like the Original Home....

Rob and I went to see Oz, the Great & Powerful in Real 3D recently. It was "ok" but didn't quite live up to the hype. In fact, I was more impressed with the animated China Doll's acting than the real life characters and still like the original Wizard of Oz better (which didn't rely on computer-generated high tech effects to tell a great story.)

Rob had not been to the movies in a very long time and was somewhat shocked by the prices at the snack bar. It is pretty outrageous...regular sized pop $4.79 small popcorn $5.39 and then they have the nerve to ask if you'd like to add real melted butter for "only another 80 cents" LOL.

I recently sold a TV to pay for tonight's outing, which was my gift to Rob for his recent birthday. it will probably take another year to save up to go to movies again....Hahaha!

I took Kayla the other week and that was exactly how I have been describing it. It was "Okay". It also left me with completely assured that I'm really not a James Franco fan. If it weren't for the 3D, I think I would have been just as happy to have rented it and saved the small fortune it cost to see it on the big screen.

I totally agree Angie.... would have preferred someone else as the Oz character, Franco was not great or powerful
