It's hard to believe that Feb. 28th marks one year since Ricky Holditch passed away. The inspiring young 26 year old showed tremendous strength during his final weeks, going public with his battle with cancer in the local media. Perhaps Ricky sensed his time with us was soon coming to a close and he wanted to share his story with others. His revelations were messages to everyone to listen to their bodies and for all of us to grasp the beauty of every day because you never know when your time is up.
Ricky had a strong support group which included his family and friends. Their love and admiration were abundant when they held a memorial fundraiser in his honour a month after Ricky died. His sister Tammie, girlfriend Steph and good friend Donny were amongst those who got tattoos as permanent reminders of their love for Ricky. Throughout the past year it was not uncommon to see Ricky's pals posting messages on facebook telling of how much they've missed him and we're certain with this being the anniversary of his death, there are sure to be many more.Ricky was an amazing guy and even those like myself who only got to know him a little couldn't help but see the remarkable way he lit up a room just by being in it.
